Councilman Clyde M. Yelverton, Jr. - District: 3
Councilman Yelverton was elected to serve on the Demopolis City Council in 2004.
Mr. Yelverton is married to Terri J. Yelverton. Mr. Yelverton has five children: Rene Crosby, Glen James (deceased), Erica Yelverton, Matt James, Clyde M. Yelverton III (Trey), and he has five grandchildren.
Mr. Yelverton was born in Demopolis but was raised in Myrtlewood, Alabama. He is the son of Clyde and Evelyn Yelverton, and has two brothers and two sisters. He moved to Demopolis in 1972 and made this his home. His interest in politics comes from his mother who was Mayor of Myrtlewood during the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Mr. Yelverton has been employed by Suttles Truck Leasing, LLC since 1983 in various positions including over-the-road driver, National Accounts Director, and Central Dispatch. He is currently a Demopolis Dispatcher for the tank and van division. He has earned the Million Mile Safety Award at work
Councilman Yelverton graduated from the Police Academy at the University of Alabama. He has received his Emergency Medical Technician certification from Livingston University.

Mr. Yelverton serves on several boards and committees for the City of Demopolis. These include the Public Safety Committee, the Public Works Board, the Library Board, and the
Personnel Committee.
Mr. Yelverton is a member of the Myrtlewood Baptist Church. He enjoys restoring his 1991 Jeep Wrangler, grilling & cooking Brunswick stew.
