Demopolis City Council

Councilman Mitchell Congress - District: 2

Councilman Congress is serving his second term as a Demopolis City Councilman representing District 2.  He is a retired educator with one son, a daughter-in-law, and one grandaughter.  He is currently the pastor of the Mt Horeb Baptist Church in Faunsdale AL. Councilman Congress is a 1978 graduate of Alabama A&M University graduating with a BS. He has since completed two masters degrees (ASU 81' and A&M 94') as well as a Theology Doctorate from Christian Practice Seminary.  His hobbies include reading and conversation as well as being a self confessed "CNN News Junky".
