J.Michael Grayson

Mayor J. Michael Grayson is a 1970 graduate of the Demopolis High School where he served as the Senior Class President, Co-Captain of the football team, and Key Club Officer. After receiving his education from Marion Military Institute, the University of Mississippi, and the University of Alabama, he worked in the insurance industry for over 27 years prior to being elected Mayor of Demopolis in 2008.

Mayor Grayson is married to the former Susan Crawford and they have one son - August - who attends the University of West Alabama. Mayor Grayson also co-owns Grayson's Vine and Hoof with his wife, and serves on the board of directors of the Demopolis City Schools Foundation and the Demopolis Water and Sewer Board.  He is an active member of the 1st Methodist Church of Demopolis and the Demopolis Rotary Club.
